It was an explosion of elegant and edgy styles as some of the world’s top modest-fashion influencers, bloggers, designers, and of course, models descended on Burj Park over the weekend to participate in the very first Dubai Modest Fashion Week event.

Determined to not let the wet weather get them down, the fashionistas put their best feet forward to provide plenty of eye candy and style inspo for everyone! Here is the hit-list of our favourite looks from the fashion-forward weekend, from runway highlights to street-style showstoppers.

1. PINK HUES

Whether it’s the architectural shape, the popping fuchsia color, or the statement turban, there’s nothing we don’t love about this design by Huwroman Tokyo. Accessorising with model attitude essential!

2. HIGH-STREET DARLING

Model Mariah Idrissi shows us how it’s done with her effortlessly edgy outfit of clashing prints and textures, all sourced from high-street fave Zara, capped with a classic bag and avant-garde jewellery.

3. BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

Statement sleeves are an enduring trend this season, lending themselves perfectly to modest fashion, as is evident in this gorgeous outfit worn by fashion blogger Aya Rihan. The dress is by Montania fashion.

4. UNDERSTATED ELEGANCE

This piece from Mizaan’s fall-winter 2018–19 collection epitomizes stately elegance with its muted colors and hint of bling.

5. WINNER WINNER

We love this glam yet understated, layered, white-and-gold look by Sydney designer Ilham A. Ismail, one of the finalists of the DMFW Emerging Modest Fashion Designer Award. This is modelled by the designer herself.

6. FLYING THE (U.A.E.) FLAG

Emirati influencer Desert Vogue nails Fashion Week style in this Aava Fashion creation. Pink is the catwalk color of the moment, and the feminine shade, combined with the strong silhouette is … everything! Oh, and hurrah for homegrown labels!

7. GEOMETRICAL GENIUS

Hala Alfare wears her own design from the Hijab Fashion ZH label. Pairing the sculptural design with sneakers to give it a casual vibe is a stroke of fashion genius in our opinion!

8. GOING GREEN

Beauty maven Soha MT wearing Lilli Jahilo just exudes elegant and comfortable. That forest-green shade has winter feels written all over it!

9. INDIVIDUALITY

We don’t know what we love more about Aya Massri’s look, the trendy wrap coat with bright embroidery trim (design by a2style) or her happy smile, the best accessory a girl can wear!

10. LADY IN RED

And finally, this piece from modest-fashion leaders Muslima Wear’s Desert Rose collection was easily one of the hottest looks from the runway. That shade of brick red and the vibrant motifs come together to make for the ultimate in grown-up glamour.
